The Standardbred Pleasure and Performance Horse Association of New South Wales and Harness Racing New South Wales, hosted the first training day for SPPHA NSW members on Saturday 16th September.
We would like to thank Belinda from Suntori Park for hosting our training day at your beautiful property, it was an absolute treat riding in your magnificent arena. Not to mention Kate Taylor-Wheat from KTW Dressage for your coaching, it was an inspirational and motivational day for all riders.
The training day commenced with beautiful spring morning back dropped behind the arena. It was an intimate day with four riders, first up was Ingrid and Arniwho. Who is currently competing Novice dressage and who are sponsored by SPPHA NSW.
Our second rider of the day was Anniejayn with her big beautiful boy Royal Remington, Anniejayn and Royal Remington were recently awarded Champion in the Harness Racing New South Wales Off The Track Series at Penrith Annual Ag Show. Remi has also been one of the successful horses to go through the SPPHA NSW Horse Placement Program.
Our third rider for the day was Kate riding Amanda’s lovely mare Diamond Park Khaleesi, who was SPPHA NSW entry in the National High Point Competition. Diamond Park Khaleesi was awarded OVERALL Senior Led Mare Champion and OVERALL Senior Ridden Mare Champion.
Our fourth and final rider for the SPPHA NSW Training day with Kate Taylor-Wheat was Megan riding her sweet mare Mischief Managed. Who were recently awarded Champion Ridden Standardbred at St Ives Winter Show. And who were both very colour coordinated for the training day!
All the riders had a great lesson, it was fantastic opportunity to have Kate for our SPPHA NSW Training day.
Kate is an accredited EA NCAS Coach who regularly coaches Beginners to Grand Prix riders, there was no part of the lesson that was left unexplained. It was amazing to witness the improvement throughout the riders during the day – and who might have been a little tired the next day!
Looking forward to seeing each of the riders achievements this coming season.
